When I saw this ladoo recipe in Vaishali’s blog, I bookmarked it right away. I made it last week and loved it. This is an extremely easy recipe to make. The base is digestive biscuits and the binding agent is condensed milk. From there, you can create your own flavor combinations. I went with the basic chocolate and coconut combo. I have used an entire pack of McVities digestive biscuits and a full can of condensed milk for this.

This is a one step process if you have food processor. All you have to do is add broken digestive biscuits, coconut and cocoa powder and blitz it. Then slowly add enough condensed milk through the feeder and run it until it becomes a mass. Take out of the food processor and roll into small balls and your ladoo is ready!

Since my food processor is small, I used a blender to break the biscuits and then used a big mixing bowl. Be mindful of the fact that with dry biscuit powder, if you are not careful, there would be crumbs all over the kitchen.

Though there is condensed milk in the recipe, this ladoo not a very sweet one. I also found that the taste is better if you let it rest for a couple of hours as against serving it immediately. It’s easy to make, you can make it as a second dessert for a crowd. Again – keep in mind that the sweet is less here, so I wouldn’t keep it as the only sweet on the menu.

Ingredients:

  • 1 (400gm) pack of digestive biscuits
  • 3/4 cup cocoa powder
  • 1 400gm can condensed milk, adjust as needed
  • 1 cup desiccated coconut

Method:

  1. Using a blender, powder the biscuits. Transfer it to biggest mixing bowl you have. Add cocoa powder and desiccated coconut. Mixing using a dry spoon. Now add half of the condensed milk. Mix using a spoon or your hands. Add more if needed to bring the powder together, I used the entire can.
  2. Once the mix comes together, take a big marble size piece and roll it into a neat ball. Repeat with the rest of the mixture. Rest it for a couple of hours before serving.
  3. I got about 32 ladoos.

  4. This is such a super delicious idea to make quick ladoos. I am so going to make this with a pack of unopened digestive cookies that I have for a while. How do you store these? In refrigerator or room temperature?
